I had just discovered slashers like Halloween, Friday the 13th and Don't Go in the Woods as new cinematic highlights sometime in the 1980s. A weekday at the Mavo, 1st hour biology class, a classmate tells me that he has rented a movie where someone vomits his guts .... which video store? Have you returned it yet?
In the afternoon after school I go straight to one of the 3 local video stores for my first Fulci. Yes, that scene was in it, but the film was just a bit too slow for me and why does there have to be another story. Those guts were cool, as were the drill and the maggots. but the love for Fulci's films only started The House at the Graveyard and Zombi 2.
High time for a re-watch and turns out to be a real Fulci topper. Exciting story, big scares and a lot of filth.

For me it's the fourth. And the best after Don't Torture a Duckling. Fulci isn't that interested in storytelling and the actors aren't the best in the world. But the effects, the music and especially the atmosphere and the amount of creativity more than make up for it.

1st of the Gates of Hell Trilogy!
Entertaining Italian Horror Classic with Very Fat Soundtrack and Gore.
Regurgitate - Effortles Regurgitation of Bright Red Blood - Intro: The Act of Intestinal Regurgitation....fucking fat landmark!!!!
Fairly slow film with really cool moments that even regularly lead to good and filthy "Italian" gore!
Scene with the maggots was really good nasty hehe!
What a great arsenal of very good movie music!
Lovely simple story and a happy ending!
Yummy! This kind of 80's deliciousness is just really tasty!
