"And you will face the sea of darkness, and all therein that may be explored."

My third Fulci already. A step in the right direction, this part already has much better cinematography and editing. The intro in black and white was very cinematic.

The acting was okay, but nothing special. Funny Italians in New Orleans .

More zombies and more kills than the previous film, but there were also a few mediocre ones. Some very nice effects and cool make-up but also some lesser ones; the spiders .

The title suggests that it is a Lovecraftian film and in itself the film contains many elements from Lovecraft's stories. The gateway to another world, for example. Eibon's book, which I prevent the movie from, is from the works of Clark Ashton Smith (part of the Cthulhu Mythos).

Another atmospheric soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi. Europe's song Seven Doors Hotel pays tribute to this film and is still very popular in Japan.

Another very nice poster and I thought the ending was pretty cool.

Watched THE BEYOND for the umpteenth time last night. But for the first time on Blu-ray.

What a relief compared to the DVD. A must for any Fulci fan. About the film itself I can be brief: This is Fulci's masterpiece !!
