Hi Friend.

The first thing you notice is the very poorly written script. It's full of coincidences and characters that are really too stupid. Those characters are the most annoying. Stupid actions, stupid texts that the actors are allowed to recite. Also, no character shows any fear or sadness, which is pretty crazy after everything that's happened to them and everything they've seen around the entity they've summoned.

Directing isn't too good either. The director seems to have forgotten to tell the actors how he would like to see it. The scares are really too cheap. A few peaks in sound design are thought to be enough to give you a scare. But the worst thing you can do in a horror movie is to make a whole without atmosphere. There is a total lack of atmosphere here.

Goodbye.

Very bad. I didn't find the film exciting anywhere, visually ugly, very poorly acted, lacked atmosphere, and not at all interesting what happened. Obviously people start playing with such a board if someone has already died because of it and the film is full of other stupidities. Really filmmakers, as a viewer I'm not completely retarded that this can still feel somewhat innovative. 0.5*.

In terms of production, Ouija is just decent. The film looks visually beautiful (it doesn't do anything special with it) and it has piggybacked on the successes of Insidious, which of course also resulted in (a much better) part 2. However, the story is just very weak and the film just doesn't do enough with the ouija board itself. It's really nothing more than a standard haunted house movie, without any surprises and riddled with jump scares. In addition, the characters are so very standard and the story is such a formula that I could barely focus on the film, I can still remember that I liked part 2 more. It will also be revised shortly.

The two stars remain.

2.0*
