Kaidan Hebi-onna plot

Chobei rules his village with an iron fist, exploiting the population. One day, Chobei goes too far and causes the death of a farmer. Rather than apologize for his misdeed, the miserly landlord forces the dead farmer's wife and daughter to become his personal servant. Later, when Chobei kills a snake protected by the farmer's wife, he begins to see images of rotting corpses, and slowly begins to lose his grip on reality. When Chobei's son's new bride begins to show the habits of a snake, Chobei tries to set everything straight... before it's too late.
