End of the Line plot

"The End is Coming..."

Karen (Ilona Elkin), a young nurse at a psychiatric clinic, has a terrible day. Her hospital is overrun with new patients, each of whom makes a chaotic impression on her. Viviane, a recently discharged patient, jumped in front of an approaching subway the day before. In the drawings Viviane left behind, Karen sees demons crawling on the hospital walls, their eyes glowing. Is this a symptom of a disturbed mind or a vision of things to come? She has an evening shift that day and is forced to take the last subway home that night. Then suddenly, deep underground between two metro stations, the emergency brake is pulled. It is a moment of reckoning of occult worshipers and demons forced to confront the subway passengers with Judgment Day. Everyone will have to ask themselves who they can trust and how to survive this ominous night.

Disappointed.

Although the film can also boast a number of nice things, it generally falls short. In terms of gore, it was all pretty okay, the film isn't too squeamish and there are some nice kills in it. It's a pity that the cult members all walked around with a glorified toothpick, those kills were a bit more moderate.

Mostly a mishmash of other movies. Children of the Corn meets Creep, or some religious freaks on the subway. Midnight Meat Treas wasn't very far away (given the ending) either.

It's a shame that the film never manages to be atmospheric. Visually it is a bit sparse, both in terms of color and editing Devereaux does not succeed in molding an exciting whole. It all came across as quite dated.

The acting is also sad. A bunch of uninteresting characters, completely replaceable grub that you as a viewer are stuck with for too long in small spaces. Such a granny also comes across as completely ridiculous as a bad guy, which doesn't do the film any good either.

Was at 2.0*, but due to the grateful ending, there is still a half. I can appreciate a twist like this, although I've seen it performed better. Mentioning the film in question is just too much of a spoiler I'm afraid.

Given the setting, this movie should have been much better. There was certainly more in it, the last shot made me doubt the ending, but we'll give the film the benefit of the doubt, won't we?

2.5*

Lovely video nonetheless. I will never forget the opening scene. Almost had a heart attack. But the rest of the film is also very exciting. Nice kills and a very nice atmosphere. Surprising to see "other killers" at work. By the way, had never heard of this film, was a bit surprised by the low average here.

A bit wild and crude horror film, the structure of which is not really good. The opening is something to take a good look at, I was also shocked for a while, but then it falls into a slightly too monotonous hunt of runaway cult members, who try to complete their mission with a dagger.

Then it becomes such a knock-out race for an insignificant group that has to live on the murders. The blond creep and the old woman give it some jeu, but it doesn't get really startling with this cutting and chopping work. With a baby it is of course easy to score, but that could have been a bit rougher.

Nothing wrong with the setting, but Devereaux doesn't manage to give it much atmosphere. It's a bit too busy for that. More demons would certainly have done the centerpiece well. I don't see this as exciting either, but it is entertaining with a slightly comic tone. At least I wasn't bored with it.
