"Possess them all"
To stop Annabelle from doing more damage, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren place the possessed doll within the locked artifact room in their home. Things go awry, however, when Ed and Lorraine leave home for the day and let Mary Ellen babysit their daughter Judy. A friend of Mary Ellen's comes by and enters the dangerous room, after which she frees the infamous doll. As a result, Annabelle wakes up all the evil spirits in the room.

Well.
I strongly agree with Chainsaw. This calls itself "Annabelle Comes Home", but really it's just "Annabelle and Friends". It is therefore not a core Annabelle film at all, but a kind of franchise meeting in which Annabelle mainly has to serve as a poster doll in order to get the people into the cinema.
Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I expect The Ferryman & The Hellhound movies in the coming years. La Llorona was also allowed to perform for a while, but she has already had her film. It's how people set up franchises these days, the sour thing is that you're hardly watching a movie, but actually a 90-minute trailer for movies from the future.
To the famous and infamous Dauberman (who doesn't know him) to direct this part. He shows talent when it comes to building fake jump scares, but the pay-offs are much less under control. He builds up the tension reasonably well, but when it really has to pop, it remains a bit tame. This may also be due to the fact that the horror in the Wan universe has been the same for 10 years and there is little change/innovation to be found. I've said it several times, but it's time for these kinds of movies to go on the shelf. Within a year or 20, you can start rebooting and prequelling again.
The film itself is not very startling. It's still just entertaining, with a cast of simple teenagers (of which not even one dies, some classic haunted house happenings and a bunch of typical Wan-horror moments. But it all feels very by the book.
I didn't really think it was worth it. The scene with the TV was the most fun, it wasn't boring either, but you can expect more from a movie like this. Furthermore, the sour aftertaste of the franchise machine that is running at full capacity.

I don't understand where all the bad comments are coming from... I thought this was a really good movie, and much better than Annabelle 1 and 2. Me and a friend saw it together in the cinema and both really enjoyed it! Just a great movie with a lot of tension!
