"DYNAMIC!"
County waitress Millie Baxter leaves for New York to marry Paul Baxter. Millie's marriage is messed up and she hardly knows who Paul really is. She soon finds out that her husband is involved in a murder case. Then Millie, standing at the window of her hotel room, is shot.

Beautifully filmed mystery/noir by William Castle. There are very beautiful scenes in which light and shadow are played with; e.g. Kim Hunt's stay in the hotel room where pulsating light falls in from across the street, the scene in which Kim Hunter is on the run in the park ...
Other top scenes include Hunter and Jagger's visit to the black club Big Jim (during racial segregation in the USA) and certainly also the drive to Louisville.
Acting performances are quite ok, taking into account that the script is rather unbelievable on several levels. The premise - 2 quasi strangers who get married - is far-fetched, and in the rest of the film it does not improve in terms of characterization and believable plot development.
Nevertheless, viewing pleasure is guaranteed for those who love noir and classic Hollywood.
And because of the successful styling I give it a generous three stars.
