Claire Cummings is a beautiful woman full of ambition, in the form of changing increasingly prominent lovers. When her husband finds out on their wedding night that she still has feelings for her former lover, Les Burns, he threatens to divorce. Claire kills him and makes it look like suicide. Now a wealthy widow, she again turns to Les for support. Until she meets another rich lawyer.
