Beyond the Forest plot
"Nobody's as good as Bette when she's bad!"
Rosa Moline (Davis), the wife of a doctor (Cotten), has an affair with Neil Latimer (Brian), a businessman in Chicago. Neil has to go back to Chicago and Rosa wants to go with him, but Neil doesn't accept this because he plans to marry someone else. Rosa returns to her husband and soon after discovers that she is pregnant. Her husband is overjoyed and thinks he should spend more time with her. When Neil returns to marry Rosa, Moose, a friend of her husband's, threatens Rosa to tell Neil that she is pregnant. Rosa becomes furious and kills him.
