Nice sci-fi/adventure youth film with a lot of fantasy. The special effects are also quite good compared to what you normally see in youth films. Not much wrong with that and in my opinion much better than Jumanji (1995). Very viewable, 3.5*.

Nice.

Maybe not the highest quality youth entertainment produced, but I normally like movies like this. Not sure if this is really related to Jumanji (see a lot of posts about it anyway) but I think it works pretty well anyway. Personally, I see it more as a film that makes its own world with an existing concept.

It's a pity Bobo's acting, even as a little boy, can never show sincere emotion. Stewart's role is also downright mediocre and uninterested. Hutchinson, on the other hand, briefly shows the rest how it should be done. It is understandable that he broke through as an actor, because even as a little boy he was able to convincingly pronounce all his dialogues and create nice characters.

The course is predictable, but the energetic twist that Favreau gives it ensures that there is never a dull moment. Every minute counts and I even thought it was good old-fashioned exciting here and there. The variation in threats and scenarios is impressive, and since the film places itself in a creative position, it can also go pretty far. Favreau takes it and the result is a very entertaining and smooth children's film.

Maybe dated at times, but I thought it was still quite entertainingly animated. Nice and childish and the background is used properly. Sentiment is not in abundance, but also managed to "touch" me in a positive way. Movies like this sometimes bring out my childhood side, and I always love to see that.

Closed the film with a smile and I was captivated by the story at all times. Maybe the film is a kind of guilty pleasure, but can enjoy it nonetheless. Too bad about the mediocre acting and the sometimes dated look, otherwise fun entertainment that the children will be sure to enjoy.

Mediocre film about two bickering brothers who play a mysterious board game. The movie certainly starts off well, but once the board game gets off to a good start, it all kind of gets repetitive and just keeps going. The fact that the film actually takes place entirely in one house doesn't really help either. Undoubtedly a lot more fun for the kids.
