Born half human and half werewolf, Clawdeen Wolf arrives at her new school, Monster High. She soon befriends her classmates Frankie Stein and Draculaura. For the first time in her life, Clawdeen feels like she has finally found a place where she can fit in and be herself, despite keeping her human half a secret. When a cunning plan to destroy Monster High threatens to reveal her real identity, Clawdeen must learn to embrace the monster in her heart and find a way to save the day.

Todd Holland's directing input is fairly minimal and he mainly lets his background staff speak through the set construction. Monster High looks very childish, but very striking for a film of this size. The event often exudes a nice, creepy atmosphere, but unfortunately it contributes little to the content. The screenplay of this film wants to appear as modern as possible, so the political side of it is also emphasized. In this film, something that is normal in my opinion (they/them) is made into a big deal, but as a result it creates a lot of discomfort rather than relevance. The costume decoration is also substandard. From the very fake wigs to the simplistic clothing, every figure really looks out of place. The acting is also mainly variable. Ceci Balagot and Kyle Selig play decent supporting roles, but the really bigger roles look mainly bare and uninspired. What remains are a number of unmemorable and extremely random music numbers that do not actually fit into the film at any point. Monster High is suitable for the younger audience, adults will most likely be bothered by the simple decoration.
