In this surreal and experimental film, based on a story by the writer Kyoko Izumi, director Terayama, against the background of a young man, searches for the lyrics and music of a song he loved so much in his childhood. The young man, Akira, becomes intrigued by a "bouncing ball" song that he remembers his now-dead mother used to sing to him.
