Difficult film to rate, at least for me. Movies about war misery don't touch me that much anymore. Perhaps we have seen too many of these kinds of films or because we are bombarded daily with war suffering through the media, such as Syria, IS, refugees, etc. At a certain point it just dulls me. By the way, this is the ninth Czech film I've watched in the last five days and it will be clear by now that I prefer the more comedic films by far. I just want to be able to laugh. And I did that with Czech films such as Happy End (1967), Kdo Chce Zabit Jessii? (1966) and especially Sedmikrásky (1966).
