Den-En ni Shisu plot
This non-narrative surrealist film is a meditation on director Terayama's adolescence, in which he lives in a small community and is overwhelmed by the stifling demands of his single widowed mother. He falls in love with a married woman, who asks him to flee to the big city together. Then the action stops, the real Terayama enters the picture, who enters into a dialogue with his 15-year-old self-image.
