Oh dear.

Already knew that the reviews were not too good, but I want to give Carrey another chance. Love him or hate him, I'm on the first side. That man just has an appearance that I can really appreciate. Well, he couldn't save the movie.

Kilmer is boring, no appearance whatsoever. Also the reason why he only appeared in 1 Batman movie. I don't mind Bale and Clooney either. But now I haven't even mentioned Kidman, what a flat character she plays. And nowhere even a bit of conviction.

Sometimes fun with the strip-like approach and neon lights. Villains were also funny at times, Robin was nimble but also had no charisma. Too bad, I really prefer the Nolan movies for this.

“Riddle me this, riddle me that, who's afraid of the big, black bat?”

Used to be a favorite, but now mostly laughably bad. To start with the positives, Val Kilmer is a worthy successor to Keaton as Batman/Bruce Wayne and plays very strong. Nicole Kidman is also a worthy successor to Basinger and Pfeiffer, and she has a fine chemistry with Kilmer. The action scenes look good too.

There is a circus in the film and that's how Batman Forever feels. It's all theatrical, cartoonish and exuberant, but it goes way too far. The dark atmosphere from the Burton films has given way to funny bad guys who are especially annoying. Carrey tries to make something out of it as the Riddler, but it's not really convincing. Just like Jones, who really does terrible acting and here puts in his worst acting performance of his career. Harvey Dent/Two-Face is an interesting character, but what they make of it here... And then you get Robin, who mostly gets in the way.

Well and after the slightly lesser 2nd part you get this one, well that takes a step back, especially the setting and the slightly too colorful Gotham make it less. Val Kilmer is wearing the Batman outfit this time and he's doing his best, but Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey are playing just TOO their bad guys. But the studio wanted to make a somewhat child-friendly Batman with this one and yes then you get those kind of bad guys haha. I also didn't like Nicole Kidman and Chris O'Donnell, Nicole's character was very irritating and Chris's was a bit too much but the action scenes make up for it.
