Erik of Het Klein Insectenboek plot
Ten-year-old Erik prefers to fantasize about his secret love Rosalie rather than preparing a speech for school. Erik's grandfather, who partly raised him after his father's death, is happy to help him and proposes insects as the subject. Erik finds this boring and while he is reading, he dreams away. Then suddenly he gets the chance to take a look at the insect world for himself, where he meets the strangest animals and experiences exciting adventures. He learns a lot about the insects, but even more about his own life. In the end, he mustered up the courage to return to the real world and do things differently.
