The Heart of the World plot
Two brothers, Osip and Nikolai, vie for the love of the same woman: Anna, a government scientist who studies the Earth's core. Anna discovers that the heart of the world is in danger of suffering a fatal heart attack (which would mean the end of the world), and the brothers compete with each other amidst the panic among the population. Nikolai is an undertaker and tries to impress Anna with the large-scale embalming of bodies, while Osip, an actor playing Christ in The Passion, tries to impress her with his suffering.
