Sid is the rebellious son of Kwan, a cruel triad boss in Hong Kong. He is forced to flee Hong Kong after an argument with a powerful crime partner of his father's. Hiding in the mountains, Sid encounters a group of Zen drummers whose breathtaking art, physical training and way of life really appeal to Sid. He joins them and develops from a spoiled, short-tempered man into a well-balanced young man. But then a fateful event brings his old life back to the fore, and he must choose between loyalty to his family and his reborn self.
