Strange video again.
A mix of many different feelings and styles, that is indeed the perfect description. Not consistently interesting, but more than worth it.

A gem.
I actually bought it on a gamble, it looked quite stylish and caught my attention. And stylish it is! The first hour in particular is powerful, at a breakneck pace in which various (often not really coherent) scenes pass by in a fantastically hip way. Nice and geeky, a nice contrast with the way their 'cool' people try to live.
I can't remember the first hour without a big smile. If it wasn't for the humor itself, it was for the wonderfully playful way in which Royston Tan manages to portray the scenes. Often random (fight scene with bit sounds 
) and always funny.
The last part slows down the (high and strange) pace, the jumping back and forth becomes a bit more moderate. While the first hour varied greatly in tone (in terms of emotion), it is a bit more unambiguous here. Here the characters develop a bit more depth, which is very nice and it's also great that it still works(!) after a remarkable first hour.
In terms of humor, characters and especially the visuals...this is nothing short of brilliant. Oh, yeah; that trip scene !!

The revision was also worthwhile.
I must honestly admit that the film had faded a bit, I didn't remember much of it anymore. But after about five minutes I knew I shouldn't worry too much about this revision. It's the type of film I like. Lots of style, lots of atmosphere, less focused on a clear narrative.
Five 15-year-old boys who have ended up on the margins of society. They don't go to school, hang around and get involved in mischief and criminal activities. The film provides a number of sketches in which you get to know them better, but otherwise there is little common thread.
Visually very energetic, the acting is strong (because 3 of the boys were also picked from the street) and the soundtrack is also very funny and appropriate. It is clearly the work of a young director who is close to his subject, I like these kinds of films.
