Yotsuya Kaidan plot
Iemon Tamiya has become a poor ronin who now has to make a living making paper umbrellas. He is married to the former prostitute Owa and would like to rise up the social ladder. To this end, he wants to marry a woman from a wealthy family, but then he will first have to get rid of Owa.
