Yellow Lily plot

Duke Alexander is better known for his sexual conquests than for his diplomatic triumphs. After a life of conquering and abandoning women again, Alexander finds a young woman he cannot leave: the Hungarian Judith Peredy. Judith resists his advances, but she can't hide the fact that she's in love with Alexander. But Judith's brother and doctor Eugene is not fond of Alexander's presence, leading to an outburst of violence. Judith and Eugene are then thrown in jail. The conscientious Alexander plans to renounce his title of nobility and promises to become a good wife to Judith and release her and her brother.
