Store clerk Mary Turner is sentenced to prison for a crime she did not commit. After her release, she wants to take revenge on her former employer Edward Gilder. She can't find work and she starts extorting money from older men. She only uses methods that fall within the law. Eventually she seduce Edward Gilder's son. When he finds out that his son plans to marry Mary, he wants to frame her for a burglary.
