Who We Are Now plot
Recently released from prison after a long stint, Beth desperately wants to reconnect with her son. But her sister Gabby and her husband have taken legal custody of the child and are not convinced she is ready to share custody. Beth has no relationship with the boy, who calls her "aunt" and treats her like a stranger. Her troubled past deters potential employers, so she works at a nail salon while calling on her pro bono attorney to argue for a better custody agreement. She may be right, but her boisterous personality threatens to constantly change her.
