White Shoulders plot
After years of living and working in the wilderness, mining engineer and now multimillionaire Gordon Kent returns to New York. There he meets impoverished entertainer Norma Selbee. Intoxicated by her beauty, he proposes that she get married the same night. Trusting that she will fall in love with him over time, Norma agrees. During her honeymoon through Europe, however, Norma increasingly dislikes Gordon, even curses him and stops trying to win his love. In France, Norma runs into her old friend and womanizer Lawrence Marchmont and he tries to seduce her. Back home, Norma clashes with Gordon and she leaves with Lawrence for Paris the next day, but they are followed by the jealous Gordon.
