When You Are 17 plot

17-year-old Amo lives in the ghettos of Tbilisi and dreams of a career as a swimmer. However, the road to get there is bumpy: in order to get the money he needs to participate in a competition in Belgium, he teams up with the petty criminal Guro and deals drugs. In the meantime, Amo falls in love with the extrovert Jessica who in turn does nothing but ridicule him. Because she herself has a romantic relationship with Guro. Between the illegal business relationships and emotional complications, Amo increasingly loses control over his life.
