Virdzina plot

Serbia, late 19th century. A woman gives birth to her fourth child. Much to her husband's chagrin, it's not a son again. He wants to kill her at first but changes his mind and demands of his daughter to pose as a boy. After all, only a boy can work and is a heir. The girl is forced into a lifelong secret with no chance of love or sex. Then another boy falls in love with him not knowing that he is a girl.
