V Lyudyakh plot
Young Peshkov (Maxim) works for a middle-class family. Apparently he helps the son of the family, who is an architect, but the mean-spirited lady of the house treats him like a house servant. However, a friendly rich woman occasionally lends him books. When the family kicks him out of the house, Peshkov must find his own place in the world.
