De Bruit et de Fureur plot

Sociodrama about the hard life in a Parisian suburb. The (feeling) poverty and misery of the residents tucked away in concrete residential communities are the subject of the film. The main character is 13-year-old Bruno (played by Vincent Gasperitsch) who is left to his fate by his parents, and therefore seeks refuge in the streets, with peers who are just as bad.

Truly shocking movie. The daily existence of a neglected youngster who joins his classmate, living in really cramped and criminal family circumstances.

The film inserts visual images that should show that the main character longs and hopes for a more loving existence.

Judging by the comments, I was expecting a gripping social drama…but instead I was presented with a kind of 'Kes on acid'. Pathetic neglected boy in the suburbs, his only friend is a bird, crime beckons: we've seen it all before. Soon, however, Brisseau lashes out with strange fantasy sequences in which an angel shows the main character the way, interspersed with grotesque humor (Cremer is great as a marginal dad who has turned his apartment into a shooting booth), interspersed with sincere drama. You have to see it to believe it. Many will call the film an unbalanced bunch, maybe they are right, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A drama about the life of a family "Flodder" in the banlieues in the Parisian outskirts. Even less adapted and taking their environment into account, more villainous too. At least the father, who is not afraid of violence and intimidation. But despite the great approach and the dramatic sauce on it, the film was above all funny. Funny because of its context of absurd events with the father in the lead.

A boy who flees from the violence and riot by hanging out with Superman, his canary bird. A pretty teacher who, against her better judgement, tries to instill some morality in her students. The goat-wool-sock social worker - there it is again - who thought she was going to solve it with a chat, but comes back from a bald trip. The father who turns his apartment into the Wild West with his gun. The scene with the dog was less funny, but it shows how diverse and energetic the film was. Nice surprise!
