Un Varón plot
"What it takes to be a man"
Carlos lives in a youth shelter in central Bogotá, which acts as a refuge from the harshness of life. It's Christmas, and Carlos longs to spend this day with his mother and sister. However, they cannot be found because of all the violence on the streets. When Carlos leaves the shelter, he too is confronted with the harshness on the streets in his neighborhood, where the law of the strongest applies. On his quest to be reunited with his family, Carlos must show that he can be one of them, the "alpha machos", even if this attitude goes against what he feels inside.
