The Trial of the Chicago 7 plot

"In 1968, democracy refused to back down."

Seven people charged over the 1968 Democratic National Convention uprising in Chicago, Illinois. It started as a peaceful demonstration but turned into a televised massacre after police and National Guardsmen used brutal force against the crowd. Over the next six months, the organizers face a wild and infamous trial by blatantly biased judge Julius Hoffman after being charged by President Nixon's Justice Department. This increases the annoyance of radicalizing youth.

Ridiculously stupid film, although the film can do little about it since it is based on truth. Humor was not funny and very rehearsed. I've always been a fan of court films, but I found the dialogues to be rather short and limited. Only sporadically did a dialogue go into depth. Despite the familiar names, it didn't appeal to me either.

1* and then I'm still mild.

wow! What a film, but I have to say right away that I am prejudiced because films like this bring back fond memories for me of the late 1960s when young people in particular made an – unfortunately unsuccessful – attempt to hold autocrats and their cronies to account.

The lawsuit of the Chicago 8 (later 7) is a typical example of the sharp contradictions at the time between the authorities and colorful (in many senses of the word) young adults, led by legendary figures such as Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Rudi Dutschke, Malcolm X , Tom Hayden, ea

Director-writer Aaron Sorkin made this fascinating film about that period: "The whole world is watching!" As far as I'm concerned Oscar material, but hey, like I said, I'm biased…
