The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd plot
"of One Fold and One Shepherd"
Although this is in America, Helam witnesses the Star announcing the birth of Jesus and for 33 years he faithfully waits for the promised coming of the Messiah despite the persecution of his faith. Helam's son Jacob is more interested in the worldly pleasures, including the beautiful Laneah, and when given the opportunity to work for the rich and powerful Kohor, he immediately seizes the opportunity and becomes estranged from his father's home. Kohor plans to destabilize the current government in order to become the absolute ruler himself. Amaron, on the other hand, a holy man, preaches to the people of Christ whose religion and miracles are currently taking place throughout the Holy Land. But Jacob becomes more and more immersed in the secular life of the House of Kohor, while Laneah becomes more and more interested in the humble faith he renounces.
