In the land of Moab, Ruth as a child is sold by her father to a Moabite sect that sacrifice young girls to the god Chemosh. Miraculously, she escapes the sacrificial block and grows up to be the beautiful priestess Ruth, who prepares little Tebah for her day of 'eternal happiness'. By chance she meets the Jewish goldsmith Mahlon who tells her about another God. A God of mercy, love and compassion. She becomes so captivated by his stories that she begins to doubt more and more about her god and Tebah's upcoming festival of sacrifice.
