Powerful film that clearly shows the origin of Facebook, the legal aftermath that this entails and the consequences for the injured. Beautiful acting by Jesse Eisenberg who knows how to portray the character of the extremely gifted, hyperactive, sensitive and almost 'socially disturbed' Mark Zuckerberg very well. I have great admiration for someone who knows how to develop an idea into a company that is now worth billions and known all over the world. However, the way this came about and the behavior of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, I find (to put it mildly) completely unacceptable. A thoroughly realistic film that is worth watching. My rating: 3.5 stars.

Film with an interesting subject, namely the creation of facebook. Somehow this film failed to captivate me, as I had expected. At times I find the film a bit boring, especially in court. Eisenberg plays his part well, but evokes little sympathy. If the real Zuckerberg is like that, then what a son of a bitch.

Andrew Garfield plays well (and if only a sensible person), but his role is not very interesting.

Timberlake's acting is mediocre: let him just sing.

The story is, as I said, interesting, but my real interest was this film only occasionally. The fact that it is otherwise well put together only partially raises my rating.

A sufficient one. 3*

Mark Zuckerberg [Jesse Eisenberg], Facebook's unpredictable CEO, faces two serious charges. His former best friend Eduardo Severin [Andrew Garfield] is demanding $600 million over an agreement that Eduardo would have a 30% stake in Facebook. Twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss [a dual role for Armie Hammer] and their partner Divya Narenda [Max Minghella] allege that Zuckerberg broke an employment contract and stole their idea to set up Facebook. In flashbacks, we get to know Mark Zuckerberg as a college student with an extremely high IQ, but an extremely low EQ, who never seems to realize who he is trampling on to accomplish his plans. Despite Zuckerberg's highly questionable conduct, Eisenberg manages to portray the Facebook founder as the complex character he – I dare presume – really is. Timberlake proves to be a brilliant choice for the role of Sean Parker, the highly charismatic unguided missile Napster founded and who wins Zuckerberg's trust with his smooth-talking. A film that seems to become more relevant by the day. Can not be missed!
