The Mighty McGurk plot
Roy "Stroke" McGurk is a former heavyweight boxing champion who works as a bouncer at Mike Glenson's saloon in New York's gritty Bowery district. Mike asks Slag to go to Ellis Island to pick up his daughter Caroline, who is returning from Europe. There he comes into contact with the English orphan boy Nipper and decides to help the boy find his relative in New York.
