"It Was Just A Moment Ago."
Savannah, Georgia, the turbulent 1930s. Captain Rannulph Junah was once a promising golfer. After the war, he became bitter and his interest in the game disappeared. Still, he agrees to play a game against two golf champions, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen. Junah is assisted by Bagger Vance, his mysterious caddy. However, playing golf leaves Junah completely cold and in the perspective of the war, he finds it not only foolish and absurd, but also insulting to still play this sport.

A "Bagger" movie indeed! Such a typical American tearjerker, with such a typical hero that the entire American audience can live with! Would he win, would he win, would he also win the love of his life? 'Sure, it's about seventeen in a dozen two turds and a penny bouquet series Hollywood case!
Nice pictures and a decent atmosphere, but otherwise the Film had so little to offer that maybe one is still too much, but for now I'll leave it at that.

RTL 4 broadcasts pretty entertaining films every Saturday afternoon. I didn't think this was a bad movie, especially because of the locations and the cars which were very nice, but the story was simple and the acting wasn't that great either.

Golf fairy tale about heroism. A slightly lesser Redford, but still not bad and you soon realize that the caddy Bagger Vance is a divine figure, or an angel who has to put Junuh back on the path of his destiny. The story is quite thin, but I was completely caught up in the golf competition between the top three golfers (lasts the whole second hour), with Junuh having to rediscover his unique talent. The top actor trio Damon-Smith-Theron successfully keep the film straight. A nice moment when Junuh points out his own mistake that no one had seen, otherwise he would have won. He is therefore undoubtedly a real hero.
