The Leader plot

Bonnie Lu Nettles and Marshall Herf Applewhite are the notorious leaders of the Heaven's Gate cult. In the year 1997, the group numbered hundreds of followers who were persuaded to leave their families and fully embrace their faith. They were promised that they would go to heaven together with extraterrestrial beings through mass suicide.
