"Is anything what it seems?"
The thirties. Traveling home from the Balkans, Iris Carr boards a train with two British compatriots, the elder sisters Floodporter, the cranky vicar Barnes with his whiny wife and a reclusive couple who are clearly having an affair. After receiving a blow to the head, Iris soon meets burly Miss Froy, a former governess to a family who travels under the guidance of a cold-hearted Baroness, her ailing sister and their medical staff. But when Miss Froy disappears a little later, everyone denies ever seeing her.
