Six people in California (five women and one man) start a book club in which they discuss Jane Austen's literature. We see how they meet and an atmosphere is created in which love, friendship, quarrels and all kinds of modern relationships occur. They realize that they themselves are living in a 21st century version of a Jane Austen story.
