The Great White Hope plot
"He could beat any white man in the world. He just couldn't beat all of them."
A boxing champion's manager decides that something needs to be done to make his boxing matches attractive again. He sets out to find the only man who could ever beat his boxer. He finds a man, but the problem is that he is no longer a boxer and he is white. However, when he convinces him to fight, he goes into tough training while the champion takes it easy and gets out of shape.
