When Johnny then arrives at the hotel bungalow where his wife Helen lives and is having a party at the time, he catches her with Eddie Harwood, the owner of the nightclub The Blue Dahlia. A tipsy Helen confesses that their son died while drunk driving. After a heated argument, Johnny leaves Helen and on the way gets a lift from the attractive blonde and Eddie Harwood's ex-wife Jessica during a downpour. In a motel, Johnny hears on the radio that Helen has been found murdered in her bungalow and that he is the prime suspect...
