The Big Lift plot
"From the Ruins came Hope and Despair"
Berlin, June 1948. The East-West conflict reaches another peak. To drive the Western Allies out of Berlin, the Soviets block all land and waterways into the city. The Allied powers then decide to create an air bridge to bring relief supplies to the western sectors of Berlin. Sergeant MacCullough falls in love with the young Friederike Burckhardt and discovers how hard life is in the still-destroyed city.
