Mountain Rivera (Quinn) has come to the end of his boxing career after a seventh round knockout by Cassius Clay. Rivera is physically affected by boxing. His eyes don't work properly and he speaks muddled. Then it turns out that his trainer has lost all his money because he bet that Rivera would not make four rounds against Clay. The only solution to make up the bet is if Rivera sells a match.
