"Anguish and emotion in the big city"
The story tells of an economic boom for Brazil as a result of foreign car factories settling there in the late 1950s. Carlos, a young middle-class man, gets involved in a big business. He accepts a job in an auto parts factory, and soon becomes a manager. His employer evades taxes and has several mistresses. Suddenly he has to support a family, he works and earns well but leads an unhappy life. He feels trapped and undergoes an existential crisis that provokes misunderstanding among his friends and loves. How can he flee? This all takes place in the metropolis and metropolis of São Paulo.
