It is mid-December 1944 and Hitler's Blitzkrieg army is raging through the forests of southern Belgium in a crushing winter offensive. When Corporal Nathan Greer and his friend, Sergeant Gordon, along with a hundred others fall into German hands and the Germans start shooting blind, they escape and must survive the winter without food and weapons and reach their own lines...

Story based on real events and yet another tribute to the heroism of our liberators.
True to tradition - it could hardly be otherwise - the film is filled with anecdotes that tell the soldiers about their lives before the war until the ending contains several fine action scenes.
Good war film with almost unknown actors who still do well. The director is also unknown to me.

Good war film set during the Battle of the Bulge. The images are beautifully portrayed in the snowy forests, also in terms of locations it looks fine. The film brings a number of good action scenes, but also a struggle for survival in which the film is characterized with quiet moments. The breakout of the Americans in the jeep towards the end is a strong scene.
Fortunately, the Germans also speak German unlike some other films in the genre.
