"A Spectacular Drama of Raging Passions...Bitter Conflicts and Bloody Intrigues!"
Pontius Pilate has been appointed governor of Judea. The area is being torn apart by political and racist uprisings led by Barrabas. At the same time, multitudes of people gather to hear the words of Jesus. Barabbas is captured by the Romans. Shortly afterwards, Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, but he is also arrested and brought to trial. The crowd demands that Jesus be crucified instead of Barabbas. Pilate must make a decision. He considers Jesus to be a righteous man, but does not want to cause further rebellions. He asks for a bowl of water and symbolically washes his hands in innocence. Jesus is led to Calvary and crucified. The sky darkens and in the earthquake that follows Pilate's children perish...
