Pesvebi plot
In the hot summer of 1917, nineteen-year-old Georgian farmer Giorgi Zakareishvili leaves his village in search of work. He soon ends up in Paris via a French ship, where he marries a French woman. A modest wealth, beloved wife, sons and a faithful friend help him to endure the separation from his homeland. However, when the opportunity arises to return to his homeland, Giorgi is already old. He tries to pass on his love for his homeland to his grandson Georges by singing old folk songs to him, teaching him Georgian and telling him about the people of his native village. As his grandfather's last wish, Georges takes his ashes back to his homeland.
