Six character sketches of six different Parisian neighborhoods made by six nouvelle vague directors. St. Germain des Pres (Shower), Gare du Nord (Rouch), Rue St. Denis (Pollet), and Montparnasse et Levallois (Godard) are all about love, flirting and prostitution; Place d'Etoile (Rhomer) is about a haberdashery dealer and his umbrella; and La Muette (Chabrol) is about a bourgeois family and earplugs.
