"EVERY WOMAN'S SHAME --and EVERY WOMAN'S GLORY"
The widower Dr. Eli Watt arrives in a small town. Eli finds himself unsuccessful in his efforts to have a meaningful career in New York. He raises his son Jimmy and adopted Letty McGinnis. Letty's mother died in childbirth and her father blames Eli and therefore gave up Letty. Eli dreams of returning to doing research.
