Samuel, an 18-year-old boy, stands on the embankment of the Tagus River to muster his courage because he wants to drown himself. While doing that, an elderly sailor, Eloi, heads his way with the same plan. Eloi rejects Samuel's proposal to jump together and instead invites the boy to go out with him in Lisbon.
