Lucille and Dan Jefferson try to save their son John from the temptations of communism. Unfortunately they are too late. The intellectual yet arrogant John, who is an employee of a federal agency in Washington, returns home after a long absence. During that absence, John was brainwashed by the communists and has been spreading communism ever since. John's parents can't get a hold of him anymore. Things get worse for John's parents when an FBI agent tells them their son is a spy for the Russians. Lucille then flies to Washington to hear the truth from her son, but he lies to her. She also learns that her son's new girlfriend is a communist.
